Run for your Life: Mexicans fleeing ultraviolence on the Juarez side of the international bridge

Speaker ex-Buffalonian Crystal Massey meets those fleeing for their lives from uncontrolled violence in Mexico. As she walks them towards a less than receptive encounter with U.S. immigration she prepares them for what is coming, including 24 hours of isolation. And she is there for them when that is over, when many must go into hiding Crystal has lived in and loves Mexico. She works for the
Southwest Asylum & Migration Institute in El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico. She has taught adults and high school students in Mexico as well as in elementary and middle schools in the United States. She also works to support Mayan weaving cooperatives in Chiapas.
